| Note | Birth dates for David and Jesse are taken from the 1901 census. No children were present at that time. By the time of the 1911 census, Jesse is still at Paris with daughter Grace, but she is a widow. We take Jesse's dates of birth and baptism from the Glen Morris Church's records of baptisms. This is to be found in publication 163, Brant County, Glen Morris United Church, registers, etc. Brant County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society, Brantford, reprinted 2006, page 4 Flenagan, Jennet Gordon/ Father Flenagan, John. Birth 9 July, 1865, baptism 24 Sept, 1865. Jesse's baptism record presents two problems, one being her given name. Such records that we have show her given name as Jesse. We may only reasonably guess that the transcribers had a problem with the clergyman's handwriting. There is more than one indication that this may have been an issue. The other problem is the conflict to do with her date of birth. It is shown as 9 July, 1865 on her baptism record and 12 August of the same year on her death registration. The baptism record is the more likely to be correct. Death reg. 008949-36 Paris, Brant County Jessie Gordon Chalmers died January 27, 1936, at Walnut Street, Paris.
