Thomas Curry died January 6, 1875. Age 28. School teacher. Born Quebec Prov. Cause of death consumption. Presbyterian. Physician Dr. Stanbury. Informant Robert Delgaty, Stanley.

The informant, Robert Delgary, may have been Elizabeth Ann's father or her brother.

CanGenWeb and Find-a-Grave have photographs of Thomas' gravestone in Hillsdale Cemetery in Hay Township. Here, Thomas' parents were buried quite recent to his own death. The stone tells that it was erected by his wife, Mary A. Curry.

The reader will notice a conflict regarding Thomas' place of birth. His marriage registration shows his place of birth as Kilkenny, Ireland. His death registration shows his place of birth as Quebec Province. The 1871 census places his birth in Quebec. The 1861 census in Hay Township of Huron County places his birth in Lower Canada (Quebec). This should be correct. The family is shown in this census as belonging to the Church of England.

With this in mind, a search was made of the Drouin Collection as made available by Ancestry. Here a Curry is baptized in 1847, apparently the son of Sam... and Mary. This was done at St. Thomas Anglican Church in Montreal. The page is faded almost to the point of unreadability, and it isn't certain that this is indeed for Thomas.
