DeathHe died in 1831 at Montgomery Co., New York.
BurialHe was buried at Van Vechten Cemetery, Amsterdam, Montgomery Co., New York.
NoteHe I am indebted to Ron Field for granting me access to his files of letters dated 1966 between Mrs. Joyce Hughes and Franklin Bailie Keachie of Waterloo, Ontario. Mrs. Hughes letters queried Keachie family history and Frank Keachie responded with a remarkable chart. In this, Mr. Keachie in turn quoted work done on the family's history in the 1890s by a Mr. A. K. Murray. For some of this, we are dependent on the chart as an original source; later portions of the chart so far examined stand up well.

The chart names the family progenitors as Andrew Keachie, 1743, born Scotland - 1831, died Montgomery County, New York, and his wife, Margaret Adair, born 1752, Portpatrick, Wigtonshire - died 1822. They are buried in Van Vechten Cemetery in Montgomery County, New York.

The years of birth and death quoted for Andrew and Margaret appear in a transcription of the cemetery. Find-a-Grave has photographs of their gravestones. These stones have the appearance of being created rather later than the early 1800s and are probably newer stones erected by family members.

They had a large family, but it may be said that three sons came to Canada.

Thomas who married Margaret Kelly;
James, who married Elizabeth Buchanan;
Hugh, 1792-1862, and his wife Mary Ann Hope McLaren, d. 1868. Hugh and Mary Ann are buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Brantford.
