ID # 6958, (1860-)
|Father||John Chapman (1824-1880)|
|Mother||Ferdinande Hespeler (1823-1901)|
|Birth||Mina Chapman was born on 8 January 1860.|
|Note||The date of Mina's birth is taken from the 1901 census at Hespeler.|
Our information for Mina, or Wilhelmina, Chapman is limited. She is with her parents and siblings in Preston at the time of the 1861 census. Her older brothers were born in Galt, but we have no information that this is so for Mina and she may well have been born in Preston.
Again, in 1871, she is in Hespeler with her parents and brothers. She is shown as being age 11.
In 1881, at age 21, she is still in Hespeler. By this time, her father is dead and she is living with her mother and her brother George.
In 1891, she is 31 and living with her mother in Hespeler.
At the time of the 1901 census, her mother recently deceased, Mina, age 41, is with her brother George and his family. Also present is her half sister, probably staying temporarily after the death of their mother. Her half sister at this point in time is shown as Louise Walker, age 51.
The last record found to this point for Mina, or Wilhelmina, is the 1911 census at Paris in Brant County. There, she is shown as a lodger in the household of David O'Neil, a flour miller. There is at least some logic to this, for it may be recalled that when Mina's brother George was married one of the witnesses was an Eleanor O'Neil of Paris. There was probably a family connection, but this is so far unknown.
