| Note | The Cody Family book tells little of George Merigold. It states that he was born in Ontario on July 14, 1841 and that he died in 1889, unmarried. George was with his parents in Burford in the 1861 census. In 1871, George was in Sarnia Township in Lambton County and he resided with the Rainsberry family, apparently working as farm labour. As of the 1880 census in Battle Creek, Michigan, he is probably the George Merigold, age 34, L. Engineer (locomotive engineer?), born Canada. A clear record for George has not been found thereafter. |
