Rachel's place of birth in her death registration is shown as Sylvan. Sylvan is in West Williams Township and it is probably the more accurate to say that Rachel was born 'near Sylvan', but almost certainly in West Williams. Certainly, early family members were buried in Sylvan Cemetery. It's interesting that her father's name is shown as Lewis, and this may entirely be an error, and not an uncommon one. Rachel's brother John, however, had the middle name of Louis, or Lewis...records vary on this one...so it may well be that father Abraham had more than one name. Rachel's husband is shown in her death registration as Henry Nichols. A marriage registration for them has yet to be found. It may be that they were married out of province. This has yet to be researched. |
