Donald McKenzie's Vol. 3, More Notices from Methodist Papers, 1830-1857, page 90, which lists marriages as they appeared in the Canada Christian Advocate (Global Heritage Press, Milton, now Ottawa). This refers to the edition of Feb. 22, 1848, page 35, and tells that Orange House of Ancaster married Mary Files of Brantford on the 11th instant. The clergyman was Rev. G. Lawrence. The location of the marriage is not stated.

A further record has yet to be found. Rev. Lawrence was a minister of the Episcopal Methodist Church. Records of his marriages do not appear to be listed for at least the Gore District.
