NoteThe Waterloo branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society provides (provided?) a transcription of death notices in the Berlin Chronicle. A death notices appears for Harriet S. Perine in the May 31st, 1859, edition of the paper which tells of the death at Conestoga, C.W., on 20th May, 1859, of Harriet S. Perine, the wife of Joseph S. Perine.

Casting about on Find-a-Grave, Harriet's place of burial is found to be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in New London, New London County, Connecticut. Her date of death is shown as 20th May, 1859. Her name is shown on the gravestone as Harriet Ann Perine. She is buried with her parents Dr. Abel Sizer and Hannah Sizer. Hannah's maiden name is said to be Treat. Her husband is shown as Joseph S. Perine.

For this early era a death registration has not been found. It may be said that her son, Robert Treat Perine was born in April of 1859 and Harriet died in May.

At some point, Harriet's brother Charles settled in Waterloo Township. He and his wife Matilda are buried in Doon Presbyterian Cemetery.
