Note | The Waterloo-Wellington branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society provides transcriptions of the Dumfries Reformer death notices for the years 1860-1865.The 23 March, 1864, edition of this paper tells that Mrs. Janet Dryden died on 18 March, 1864 in North Dumfries at the home of her son William. She is said to have come to Canada about 30 years previous with her husband Andrew. They came from Hawick Parish in Roxboroughshire, and that all of her family, 7 sons and two daughters, attended her funeral. She is said to have died at age 80. |
