This site documents my paternal Irish ancestors and some of their descendants. Michael Doyle, my great-great-grandfather emigrated from Ballindaggin, County Wexford, Ireland to the Jones Falls area of Ontario in about 1850 where his family grew to include Dunns and Jordans, also from Co Wexford, and Hamiltons from Co Antrim.
Michael's younger brother, James, also emigrated to Ontario. He married and raised a family in Portsmouth, near Kingston, before moving to Toledo, Ohio. A few of his descendants are included in this site.
Much more is known about some of these families than others; in particular there may be errors in some branches of the Dunn and Jordan lines. There were several (presumably) unrelated Dunn and Jordan families in the Jones Falls area. I have tried to draw logical conclusions about these families, but more work needs to be done. There was also another Doyle family in the area which is believed to be unrelated; they arrived many years earlier (1820s) and there is no known interaction between them and "my" Doyles.
