      Mary Marcella Carty was born on 22 January 1889 in South Crosby Twp, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario.1,2 She was the daughter of Henry Joseph Carty and Elizabeth Dunn.1,2 She was baptized on 24 February 1889 in St Philip Neri Church, Toledo, Leeds & Grenville County, OntarioG.2 She married Patrick Joseph Dwyer on 9 August 1916 in Elgin, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario.3 She died in 1970.4

Joe and Mary farmed just outside Elgin Ontario. That farm is still in the family and the Dwyers are recognized as one of the top Holstein breeders in Canada. Joe was the "salt of the earth".4
