     Benjamin J Gavin was born on 5 December 1870 in Lansdowne Twp, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario.1,2 He was baptized on 2 January 1871 in St Barnaby's Church, Brewer's Mills, Frontenac County, Ontario.1 He was the son of Benjamin Gavin and Bridget Bulger.1,2 He married Edith Hamilton, daughter of Charles Hamilton and Eleanor Fitzgerald, on 19 June 1901 in St Columbanus Church, Elgin, Leeds & Grenville County, OntarioG.2,3 He was left a widower when Edith (Hamilton) Gavin died on 18 March 1916.4 He died on 15 April 1957 in Brockville, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario, at age 86.5,6 He was buried in St Patrick's Cemetery, Lansdowne Twp, Leeds & Grenville County, OntarioG.6
