     James Elmore Butterfield was born on 15 February 1916 in New Westminster, British Columbia.1 He was the son of Harry Butterfield and Mary Ann Montgomery.1 He married Mary Noel Doyle, daughter of Charles Michael Doyle and Gerda Louisa Naas, on 1 August 1945 in New Westminster, British Columbia.2 He died on 25 December 1987 in New Westminster, British Columbia, at age 71.1
