|Note||An index to birth registrations exists for Elsie Florence Causon, showing her birth year as 1892 and the month as September. The month may represent the quarter and may not be actually correct. More research is needed. The family, shown as being members of the Salvation Army, came to Canada in 1910 on the Empress of Britain. The passenger list shows the family as William L. and Emma Anne, with daughter Elizabeth F. This will be a clerical error, for the family was destined Galt and was there at the time of the 1911 census. The 1911 census seems to be errored, for William is shown with wife 'Elsie' and no daughter is shown. Since others are shown in the household, lodgers, it seems likely that the enumerator misunderstood the information.|
On April 24, 1913, William L. Causon crossed into the U.S. at Detroit. He shows that he came from Galt and that his wife was his closest relative, residing at 17 Richardson Street. His destination is shown as Flint.
On June 24, 1913, Emma Causon is shown crossing into the U.S. at Detroit. With her is daughter Elsie. Emma is 46 and Elsie is 20. Their last permanent residence is shown as Galt and they are destined to William L. Causon in Flint.
The best representation of the family would appear to be the 1901 census at Central Hackney in London. William Lloyd Causon, age 35, is shown as Asst. Supt. Life Assurance. With him is wife Emma Anne, age 35, and daughter Elsie Florence, age 8.
The page shows them at 58 Dunlace Road. The information at the top of the page shows them in the Clapton Park Ward of Hackney, County London.
