| Note | Peter Wood was the son of Samuel Wood, born July 25, 1790, and Charlotte Kirkpatrick. Something of the Wood family history appears in A History of the People of Troy, 1947, The Women's Institute of Troy, Ontario. Death reg. 006517-08 City of Brantford, Brant Co. Peter Wood died 14 December, 1907. Age 82. Residence 48 Wellington St. Gentleman, married. Born Beverly Township. Episcopalian. Informant illegible, but evidently the undertaking firm. Peter died in December of 1907, but the clerk did not return the page with the registration to the county until January of 1908. Hence, the registration is found on the 1908 records fo the Archives of Ontario. There is a conflict with Peter's date of death as it appears on the registration and as it is transcribed from the inscription in the mausoleum in Mt. Hope Cemetery as done by the Brantford Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. We take as more likely correct the mausoleum inscription. |
