ID # 3001, (1838-1912)
| Father | Oliver Adams (1800-1882) |
| Mother | Mary Ann Bunker |
| Baptism | Amanda Adams was baptized on 8 October 1838. |
| Marriage | She married Purvis Miller Lawrason, son of Robert Lawrason and Margaret Carson, on 10 September 1856 at Norwich, Oxford Co.. Per Wilson's Ontario Marriage Notices: On Tues. 10th inst., at the Parsonage, Norwichville, Pervis 'McLaurason', of Burford, and Amanda Adams, of the same place. (Rev. Peter German) This was the 10th September 1856. |
| Death | She died on 20 June 1912 at London, Middlesex County, Ontario, at age 73. |
| Note | Amanda is with her parents and siblings in Burford Township at the time of the 1851 census. She is shown as age 14. Her father, Oliver, is a tanner and shown as age 52. Her mother is shown as Mary A. Adams, age 33. Given the information provided in the obituary for Oliver Adams, as it appeared in the Christian Guardian, it's reasonable that Mary A. Adams is Mary Ann Bunker. This would work for Amanda's age of 14 in 1852 as being after the death of Oliver's first wife. (When enumerators asked for ages in the 1851 and 1861 Canadian censuses, they were asking for the age as of the next birthday. Since the 1851 census was taken in January of 1852, Amanda would likely have turned 14 that year.) Death reg. 020897-12 City of London, Middlesex Co. Amanda Laurason died June 20, 1912. Born October 8, 1838. Age 73 years, born Canada. Parents Oliver Adams, born United States, and Mary Ann Bunker, born Canada. Place of death 643 Nelson Street. Informant S.F. Laurason, 643 Nelson Street. |
