Lawrason, solicitor, Woodstock. The recording clerk totally omitted the year of death and registration on the 12 registrations on the two facing pages. Hence, Ancestry has the page indexed as 1870. It is clear enough from Mary's gravestone in Old St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery in Woodstock that she died in 1871. A photograph of William and Mary's gravestone appears on the excellent website Cemeteries in the County of Oxford, Ontario. The inscriptions on the stone aren't totally clear, but we are able to decipher the dates of Mary's birth and death from the inscription. |
