| Note | Ancestry carries a database, England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 On this is found a baptism for Julia Bettridge. This reads: Julia Bettridge, female Baptism date and place: 6 Dec 1829, Millbrook, Hampshire, England Father William Bettridge, mother Mary Bettridge This is said to be found on FHL film nbr. 1041742 Julia and William Lawrason are in London, Canada West, at the time of the 1861 census. With them are her parents Rev. William Bettridge and his wife 'Mrs.' Bettridge. This shows William Bettridge as being born in Gloucester and his wife as being born in Sheffield, England. With them also are Emily Bettridge, spinster, 31, and born in Sheffield, England, and Dora C. Bettridge, 19, born in Woodstock, Canada West. Just why the Bettridges are with them at this time isn't clear, for he, William, was apparently the rector of Old St. Paul's Anglican church in Woodstock at the time. In 1871, Julia and William are in Woodstock, Ontario, and are living with Julia's parents. William is shown as a lawyer. By 1881, Julia and William have gone to live in Muskoka District and were enumerated in the township shown as Watt & Cardwell. William died in January of 1889 and Julia has not yet been found in the 1891 census. But in the time of the 1901 census, she is shown in Muskoka in the township of Humphrey. She is age 71 and shown as Julia B. Lawrason. housekeeper, in the home of illeg. Gillmour, clergyman. Her date of birth is shown as 23 November, 1829.
