| Note | The baptism for Robert Alexander is shown in the Wesleyan Methodist Baptisms as being that of James Alexander. Given that the 1871 census shows His name and birth as Robert A. on Feb 13 of the year, we must believe him to be the same child, and since he is shown in later census information as Robert, his entry as James in the baptism record is probably a clerical error.
Further, the 1901 census in Niagara Township shows Robert A. Putman as being born Feb. 13, 1871. This would appear to confirm the above. |
