|Note||A death registration for Sarah Ann Hamill Sheppard has not been found. She is buried with Richard in section B of Fairview Cemetery in the city of Niagara Falls. Though she died some 16 years after Richard, the transcription information as provided by the Niagara branch of the OGS has problems and it appears that the gravestone was in poor shape when the task was approached. The Niagara OGS also, however, transcribed burial permits, Jauary 1901 - June 1904, and page 10 of this has some information of interest. It tells that Sarah Ann Sheppard died on October 1, 1902, at age 84, in Buffalo, N.Y. She was buried in Fairview on October 3, 1902. This agrees with a Morse Funeral Home index which confirms the October 3 date. Apparently the burial was ordered by Wm. Sheppard. A search of the 1900 U.S. census has been made, but her residence in Buffalo has not been found. She has not been found in Ontario in the 1901 census, either. Likely, she was in Buffalo.|
