Eugenia Mary Bartley
ID # 6604, (1848-1873)
| Birth | Eugenia Mary Bartley was born in 1848 at Woodstock, Brock District, Canada West. |
| Marriage | She married Thomas Sparks, son of William Sparks and Isabella Lindsay, on 31 January 1869 at Oxford County. MS248 reel 12, Vol. 50, page 126 Oxford County Marriage Register Extracted from a list of marriages solemnized by Rev. S. Belcher, incumbent, St. Johns, Thamesford, for the half year ending June 31st, 1869. Thomas Sparks M.D., 23, born Scotland, residing East Nissouri. Parents William and Isabella Sparks. Eugenia Bartley, 21, born Woodstock, C.W., residing East Nissouri.Parents Onesiphorus and Sarah Bartley Witnesses Newton Bendick of Westminster and Susan Augusta Platt of London, Ont. On January 31, 1869. The county marriage registrations do not typically tell the marriage location. Since both Thomas and Eugenia resided in East Nissouri Township and St. Johns Anglican church was located in Thamesford, which is located in East Nissouri, it seems probable that at the least East Nissouri was the location of the marriage. |
| Death | She died in 1873. |
| Note | Apparently Eugenia is buried in Lakeside Anglican Cemetery in East Nissouri Township. A death registration has yet to be found, but the Oxford County Libraries carries an index to the Ingersoll Chronicle which carries a death notice for the paper's edition of 1873-09-04. The index renders her name as Eugine, but this is probably Eugenia. This is still being researched. |
