Burial Sept 25th, 1927, at Nestleton, Ontario. Joseph's place of birth, Manvers, is, according to a biography, Manvers the township. There was also a village of Manvers, now called Ballyduff. Joseph's biography may be found on the website for FadedGenes. This also provides us with Louisa's middle name, Wright. Nestleton is in Cartwright Township of old Durham County, now the Durham Region. The cemetery is to the immediate north of the village. Joseph's parents are buried there. There is a piller stone for Joseph's parents. Joseph's stone reads: Rev. Joseph Philp, M.A. D.D. 1851-1927 The Durham Region branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society also provides a transcription of Nestleton United Church Cemetery. As noted above, Joseph's parents are indeed buried in Nestleton, but, also, an extensive contingent of the Philp family is buried here. |
