Elizabeth F Burns

Elizabeth F Burns was born on 21 September 1864 in South Crosby Twp, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario.1,2 She was the daughter of John Burns and Lydia Nolan.3,4 She was baptized on 4 March 1869 in St Edward the Confessor Church, Westport, Leeds & Grenville County, OntarioG.2 She married John Kenneth Hamilton, son of Charles Hamilton and Mary Jordan, on 12 February 1890 in St Philip Neri Church, Toledo, Leeds & Grenville County, OntarioG.4,5 Elizabeth immigrated to North Dakota after her marriage; John had been living there for several years.6 In August 1939, Elizabeth and John celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary a few months early, with their entire family in attendance, in Langdon, Cavalier County, North Dakota. She was left a widow when John Kenneth Hamilton died on 13 July 1942.7,8 Shortly after John's death, Ellizabeth went to live with her daughter Edith's family. She stayed with them until she required skilled nursing care in late summer 1948.9 She died on 1 January 1951 of congestive heart failure in Blonza Rest Home, Vassar, Tuscola County, Michigan, at age 86.1 She was buried in Calvary Cemetery, Langdon, Cavalier County, North DakotaG.10,11
