The marriage was by license. The witnesses were W. Rubridge and T. Mackie. |

| Note | Edmund Burke Wood had a long career in politics and jurisprudence. He served as provincial treasurer of Ontario and, later, was Chief Justice of the Manitoba Court of the Queen's Bench and died in 1882 while serviing in that capacity. Edmund Burke Wood has a biography in 1883 Warners and Beers History of the County of Brant. This appears on page 369. The Marters do not get a mention. |
