Bennett, 19, born Canada, residing Nelson. Parents Thomas and Keziah. Witnesses T. Bennett and L. Bennett, both of Nelson. On 11 August, 1863. A website listing Methodists in Canada shows Rev. David Rolson, but does not mention the time frame of his presence in Halton County. A history of a given church in Nelson Township would probably tell the tale. Given that the bride's family resided in Nelson and the witnesses, obviously of Lorilla's family, were of Nelson, then the marriage was either held in a church or at the residence of the bride's parents. District and County marriages do not typically tell where the event was held. |

| Note | Lorilla's name is almost unreadable in early census information. Her name does appear clearly on the gravestone of her daughters Annetta and Bertha in Guelph's Woodland Cemetery. It also appears clearly on her own gravestone in Hamilton Cemetery. Her middle name, Minerva, appears on her death registration. Death 035520-22 Hamilton, Wentworth Co. Lorilla Minerva Snider died Feb. 17th, 1922, at 50-1/2 East Ave. North. Age 78. Born Milton on May 24, 1843. Physician H. D. Storm. Informant H. B. Snider, 39 S. Lasalle St., Chicago. Son. Burial City Cemetery on Feb. 21st, 1922. Portions of the form have been left bank, such as Lorilla's parentage. |
