Halton County Marriage Register

Extracted from a list of marriages solemnized by Rev. David D. Rolston, a minister of the Methodist New Connexion Church for the year ending 31st day of December, 1863.

Geo. H. Snider, 24, born Canada, residing Georgetown. Parents Michael and Elizabeth.
L. M. Bennett, 19, born Canada, residing Nelson. Parents Thomas and Keziah.
Witnesses T. Bennett and L. Bennett, both of Nelson.
On 11 August, 1863.

A website listing Methodists in Canada shows Rev. David Rolson, but does not mention the time frame of his presence in Halton County. A history of a given church in Nelson Township would probably tell the tale. Given that the bride's family resided in Nelson and the witnesses, obviously of Lorilla's family, were of Nelson, then the marriage was either held in a church or at the residence of the bride's parents.

District and County marriages do not typically tell where the event was held.
