John Francis Burnash

     John Francis Burnash was born on 21 July 1873 in Brewer's Mills, Frontenac County, Ontario.1,2 He was the son of Joseph Burnash and Elizabeth Maxwell.1 He married first Harriet Morah.3 They lived on Lot 10, Con 2, Pittsburgh Twp, Frontenac County, Ontario.3 He was a cheesemaker.4,5 He was left a widower when Harriet Morah died on 6 April 1906.3 He married second Rosanna Lappan on 19 November 1907 in Front of Leeds and Lansdowne Twp, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario.4 He was left a widower again when Rosanna Lappan died on 6 April 1914.6 He married third Elizabeth Mary Doyle, daughter of Michael Doyle and Elizabeth Mary Dunn, on 30 November 1916 in Gananoque, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario.1 He and Elizabeth Mary Doyle immigrated in March 1918 to Adams Twp, Jefferson County, New York. They entered at the port of Cape Vincent, NY stating that they had purchased a farm in Adams, and intended to reside there permanently. They were accompanied by John's children Rose Burnash and John Stanley Burnash. Joseph Burnash and Patrick Michael Burnash, his other young sons, do not appear on the manifest, however they are residing with John and Elizabeth on the 1920 census.7 He was left a widower when Elizabeth Mary Doyle died on 19 August 1933.8 He died on 19 September 1960 at age 87.9 He was buried in Rural Cemetery, Adams, Jefferson County, New YorkG.9
